It collapses down and has a storage bag that is included so it is very convenient to carry. This tent is very easy to put up, it does take about 30 seconds as they say. There are NOT lots of parts that detach and could be lost. When I first got the package, it was so light (maybe a couple pounds most) I thought there was no way it could be sturdy. Upon opening it at the beach, of course on the windiest day, this opened with no problem, stayed put, and had lots of room inside. It has stakes and sand pockets, but we usually put our cooler inside too, so we didn't use the sand pockets. It has one solid back side to block the sun, and 2 side mesh sides (good quality too) to allow air. It didn't get stuffy because of the air flow, but we laid a beach tail on the side the sun was coming in to get a little more shade in the tent. It is also nice for the beach because it angles up at the top, so it does not block the people behind you too much like some square tents might. We need to be close to the water...
